Indonesian army plans to annul business interests and buy arms from Israel

TEMPO Interactive reports that Indonesian Army Chief of Staff Gen. Djoko Santoso has stated that the Army was prepared to speed up the process of annulling all TNI businesses within two years and not five years as planned earlier.

The Indonesian army also plans to purchase AR Galiea weapons from Israel between 2005 and 2009.

However, the Vietnam News Agency reports this could be a sensitive issue as Indonesia has no diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv.
