Caracas, 18 Ago. AVN.- The plane with 12 tons of humanitarian supplies of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (Alba) for the Palestinian people arrived Monday at 6:05 pm local time in Egypt, where supplies will be transferred to the Gaza Strip.

The information was released by the Venezuelan Minister for Defense, Carmen Melendez, through her Twitter account @gestionperfecta, in which she detailed the path of the plane that departed on 12 August from the Simon Bolivar International Airport in Venezuela, and passed by Brazil, Senegal, Algeria and Malta.

The Minister wrote: "Already in the Military Base in Ismalilla, humanitarian aid will travel by land in a 4 hour drive to Rafah," a Palestinian city in the Gaza Strip, where over 2,000 people have been killed by the Israeli Army and more than 9.0000 injured, mostly civilians, including children, women and elderly.

"A piece of Venezuela arrives in Egypt in solidarity with Gaza victims," wrote the minister.

Melendez also congratulated "the entire crew of our peace plane for crossing and bringing the noble Palestinian people in Gaza love."

Aid is expected to be delivered Tuesday at noon passing by "the Rafah Crossing point, on the Gaza Egypt border with support from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society", according to Telesur network.

A C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Venezuelan Military Aviation is shipping drugs, medical-surgical supplies, drinking water, nonperishable food, clothing, blankets, pillows, family tents, lanterns, mats, among other items.
