Middle East: Iran, Turkey discuss Iraq, Palestine over phone

Vienna, July 16, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoğlu in a telephone conversation on Tuesday evening exchanged views on the latest situation in Iraq and Gaza.

During the telephone conversation, the Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers laid emphasis on the need for maintaining unity and integrity of Iraq and confronting the terrorist attacks and secessionist moves.

Zarif and his Turkish counterpart also pointed to the savage and brutal attacks of the Zionist regime against defenseless people of Gaza, and reiterated the need for immediate actions of the international organizations and all countries to send humanitarian aid and a halt in inhumane crimes of the regime.

The Iranian foreign minister is currently in Vienna for negotiations with the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany).
