Middle East: Lebanese PM: Beirut ready to expand cooperation with Tehran

Beirut, June 26, IRNA – Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Saeb Salam referring to brotherly relations between Iran and Lebanon underlined his country readiness to further develop bilateral cooperation.

In a meeting with Iranˈs ambassador to Lebanon here on Wednesday, Tammam Salam said that the terrorists have aimed at the security and stability of Lebanon and all Lebanese political groups should cooperate to confront such attrocious acts.

The two sides also discussed development in Lebanon and the region and ways to expand relations between Tehran and Beirut.

The ambassador, for his part, referring to brotherly and friendly relations between Iran and Lebanon and to the signing of several Memoranda of Understandings in different fields between the two countries called for making necessary preparations by the Lebanese government to execute the MoUs.

He also condemned the recent terrorist acts in Lebanon and the martyrdom of a number of security forces in the blasts and condoled with victimsˈ families.

Fatahali stressed that the enemies are creating new plots everyday in the region, so as the Muslim would get busy and forget the Zionist regimeˈs menace as the main enemy of the Islamic World.
