South Sudan: Dinka Malual & Reizegat discuss migration routes for the Reizegat nomadic communities

A border conference between the Dinka Malual and Reizegat communities has opened in Gok-Makchar, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.

300 delegates, including women representatives are attending the 3 day meeting. The conference is conducted every dry season to discuss agreeable migration routes for the Reizegat nomadic communities from Sudan into Dinka Malual areas.

At the opening of the conference, the acting governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Lino Adup Achier urged the two Communities to maintain peace.

“The peace does not mean people live without problems, but means when there is problem people should find and a peaceful way to solve their problems....If w co-exists peacefully, there will be development, development bring Education. Your hear one day , that one from either Rezeygat or Dinka Malual become a president in any country in the world. And these will come through development that may happen. ‘’

Meanwhile, the Paramount Chief or (NIZIR EL OMUM) of el- Reizegat, Mohamoud Musa Madibo called for peaceful co-existence.

"We discovered that we cannot live without South Sudan in general and we can live with our brothers Dinka Malual. No country or international boundaries can prevent our relations with Dinka. We are very, very sorry and very sad painful incidents in the past. ‘’

The conference is organized by the State Peace commission with support from the UN Mission and the United States government through its Viable Support to Transition and Stability program – VISTAS.
