Tehran, Oct 2, IRNA – Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said on Wednesday that granting amnesty for a number of security prisoners has nothing to do with the results of the presidential election, rather was a legal and continued trend.
During the past three years Iran granted amnesty to the security prisoners three times number, Ayatollah Larijani said, adding that the recent release of prisoners was decided before the election.
He made the remarks in response to analyses that the amnesty was granted as the atmosphere of the country has changed due to the results of June 14 presidential election.
