MOGILEV, 17 October (BelTA) – Belarus continues to negotiate with Russia the repatriation of Belarusian cultural property, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with students of Kuleshov Mogilev State University on 17 October, BelTA has learned.

The head of state stressed that he has recently talked to the Russian President about the return of national historical values such as, for instance, Slutsk belts to Belarus.

He emphasized: “The talks are tough. I think the issue will be solved, and there will be an example of these values being returned to their homeland.”

Alexander Lukashenko also said that Belarus is completing the project to set up the manufacture of Slutsk belts. "These will be real Slutsk belts, made using the technology of that time," the President noted.
