Iran: President Rohani to present Tehran stand on major issues at SCO summit

President Rohani made the ramarks while he was speaking to reporters at the airport prior to his departure for Bishkek Thursday morning to attend the SCO summit.

The Presidents visit to Bishkek is taking place at an official invitation by his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev.

Kyrgyzstan holds the current rotating presidency of the SCO.

President Rohani described the SCO summit as an important event regarding the present critical situation in the region.

Iran, along with Afghanistan, India, Mongolia, and Pakistan, has an observer status in the SCO.

The SCO is an intergovernmental organization founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
