Tehran, Aug 28, IRNA – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Wednesday said that the Iranian Majlis supports enhanced relations with Australia in different fields.
Larijani made the remarks during a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Tehran Paul Foley.
Referring to regional crises, Larijani said that terrorism is the most serious threat facing the region, calling for cooperation among influential regional states in this regard.
He also expressed his opposition to any military intervention in Syria under false pretexts.
The Australian ambassador, for his part, voiced his country’s readiness to hold talks with Iranian officials on bilateral and international issues.
He stressed the need for fighting extremism.
The two officials also discussed campaign against drug trafficking.
