Astana, Oct 12, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mihman-parast said Iran is ready to show flexibility to remove the West's concerns, but this move should have reciprocal measure, too.

Speaking in the 10th Eurasia media meeting in the city of Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, Mihman-parast said Iran can move toward eliminating concerns of the West, but the other side should guarantee Iran’s nuclear and enrichment rights for peaceful goals.

He continued that in talks with Group 5+1, Iran was ready to solve all stated concerns step by step and in a mutually agreed framework.

The spokesman underlined that if a guarantee had been given to provide fuel for Tehran Research Reactor with 20 percent enrichment, Iranian officials would have been ready to enter negotiations about 20 percent enrichment, but, of course, it does not mean that Iran entitled to enrichment, because all countries have the right to do so.

Referring to economic aspect of enrichment, the spokesman said that maybe in a period of time Iran needs to do a 5 percent enrichment, but, sometimes, 20 percent enrichment is not economically profitablel, so if they guarantee to provide Tehran Research Reactor with fuel, the issue would be negotiable.

He added that Iran’s nuclear activities are upon Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which Iran has already signed, and that Iran opposes with producing nuclear weapons.

The spokesman continued that Iran is acting upon its rights and no violation has taken place so far and we do not consider reaction against our nuclear activity as a world community reaction, but just a few countries which are making certain claims about this activity, in fact they think that Iran nuclear activity is not in their own interests.

He reminded that these countries have the biggest nuclear arsenals themselves and explained that the USA, which has imposed the most pressure against Iran, is the sole country which has used this kind of weapons has declared that in case of necessity is ready to use them again.

Mihman-parast said it is a question for us why whenever situation goes toward solving the problems, we face with more opposition by the US government?

He referred to the US sabotage concerning supply of Tehran research reactor fuel and said that we had no motive to produce 20 percent enriched uranium, but to fullfill needs of cancerous patients, we started to produce the fuel by ourselves.

The senior diplomat underlined that the US behavior shows that they do not want to solve the problem.

He reminded that Iran has been under US sanctions for the last 32 years, and nuclear issue started just a few years ago, but the Americans, before that and under different pretexts had imposed sanctions against Iran.

Concerning the Zionist regime threats against Iran, the spokesman said that the nature of the regime is warmongering, creating tension, threats and invasions, but none of their claims are important for us.

He underlined that the Zionist regime is living under a harsh situation, and the situation has escalated after the Islamic awakening in the region.
