Managing Director of National Gas Company Javad Oji said on Tuesday that Iran has finalized a gas export contract with Iraq and is planning to ink similar contracts for export of gas to two Persian Gulf countries and Europe.
He told reporters on the sidelines of the 17th International Exhibition on Oil, Gas, Refinery and Petrochemicals in Tehran.
Oji said 25 million cubic meters of Iranian gas are to be exported to Iraq to be used in Baghdad “Al-Mansouriye” power plant and other industries.
He said the two countries' ministries of oil agreed to transfer Iranian gas to Iraq for five years and the contract will automatically be renewed for another five years.
