Parts of a new book by former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are starting to hit the media, revealing the post 9/11 fallout within the White House, her clashes with vice president Dick Cheney, and her thoughts on ex-Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi.
In her new book, Rice writes that Gaddafi wanted to meet her in his tent but she refused and in the end they met at his formal residence in Tripoli.
Rice also tells how she repeatedly clashed with Cheney over what to do with what she referred to as captured terrorism suspects. In the book she calls Cheney's staff, "very much of one ultra hawkish mind."
