In addition to the $500 million earmarked to build around 2000 junior secondary schools in Indonesia - a country that takes all yet gives nothing to us in return, (not even justice for our citizens) Gillard today pledged $200 million to Pacific Island nations, to tackle education, health and environmental issues. On a day when New South Wales teachers took the rare step of going on strike, there is a very strong case to be made for Australians to be the beneficiaries of Gillard's generosity.
Recipients however, include Fiji, a country which like Indonesia and Malaysia, has scant regard for human rights and little respect for Australia.
Gillard also said Australia would spend $13.5 million on alleviating the effects of climate change in the Pacific
Julia Gillard, that is small change compared to what Australia will need to spend to alleviate the effects of Julia Gillard.
