Senegal: Constitution change sparks violent protests

Several people have been injured in Senegal during a demonstration over proposed changes to the constitution.

Protesters, on Thursday, said that the legislation would further strengthen President Abdoulaye Wade's power base.

The changes include creating the post of Vice President.

Another proposal to lower the percentage of votes required to win next year's presidential election has since been dropped.
