Terrorism: Now Iraqi academic says 9/11 conspired against Muslims

London, Sept 28, IRNA – Iraqi academic Talib Alsaraf has said he agreed with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in calling for a fact-finding investigation into the events of 9/11.

“It is true, that the case of 9/11 needs an independent commission to achieve firm answers rather than more Zionist conspiracies,” Alsaraf said told IRNA.

“Undoubtedly, there was co-operation between US, Israeli and Saudi intelligence at that time. So many people believe they are behind this conspiracy,” he added.

During his speech to the UN General Assembly last week, the Iranian President drew attention to the growing number of civilian and military deaths caused by the US-led “war on terror” in Afghanistan and Iraq and proposed that a fact-finding mission be set up by the UN to investigate the events of 9/11.

He spoke of the many conspiracy theories that believed the attacks were orchestrated by some segments within the US government to reverse the declining American economy, and its grips on the Middle East, in order to save the Zionist regime.'

“A large part of this story is one of Zionist fabrication, instigating fear and loathing towards the Islamic world. The Zionist lobby is powerful in the international arena. It also advocates inhuman policy,” Alsaraf said.

He suggested that the walk-out by US allies in protest against Ahmadinajad’s speech was planned by governments who had “already voted against Iran in the UN Security Council and their opinion was known before his speech.”
