Macedonia: Name issue to be solved soon, says UK ambassador

FOCUS Information Agency - EU’s rules have not changed. If a single member state thinks that Macedonia is not ready, the country cannot launch the accession talks, said British ambassador to Skopje Andrew Key in an interview to Macedonian Dnevnik daily.

As far as the name issue is concerned, Key said that the UK will continue encouraging the two countries to find mutually acceptable solution to the dispute.

“We do not set deadlines as the process develops within the UN and it is a bilateral issue, which should be solved by the two countries involved. I think that it is possible to find solution to the name issue and I think it can be found soon,” Andrew Key remarked.
