Justice just isn't

Justice, now there's a fine old thing. Great words have been written and uttered about justice, nearly all extolling it's virtues or emphasizing its finer points. "Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done". Oh my, get's you right in the heart doesn't it.

You don't see too many famous quotations however, telling you that the scales of justice are not evenly balanced. On the side you have the rich, the powerful, the influential and famous-for-a-day celebrities. On the other hand, you have the poor, the meek, the mild - the average man or woman in the street.

Yes, Justice must be done, and it must be seen to be done - without fear or favor, without pressure or influence, without the silencing or harassment of truth seekers, without regard to social, professional status or political or religious allegiance, regardless of what school or college club one belonged to. It must be blind to the power of those standing in the dock or incarcerated in soft jails for crimes that would have lesser mortals banged up for much longer in much harsher environments.

Justice should not be a commodity that can be bought by electronic transfers, favors or gifts. No man, woman or child should be denied or betrayed by Lady Justice for the benefit of those who have more than liberty to lose for the errors of their ways.

Come on Lady Justice, deal all of us a fair hand - because these days the cards are too often stacked in favor of The House.

Wherever you may be - be safe
