Ala’eddin Boroujerdi+iran+mike+hitchen+onlineIRNA - Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission criticizing Russia’s policies regarding Iran urged Moscow here Friday to make up for its past conduct.

Ala’eddin Boroujerdi in an exclusive interview with IRNA Political Desk reporter reflected his viewpoints regarding Russia and China.

Reiterating that we are not pleased with Russia’s conduct, he said, “Yet, resorting to the art of diplomacy we need to make efforts aimed at gaining a greater extent of harmony between that country and the Islamic Republic of Iran in its future stand takings.”

Referring to the level of business and economic relations between Russia and China on the one hand and Iran on the other hand he emphasized, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has high level economic and trade relations with both counties; Tehran has never expected those two permanent members of the UN Security Council to veto a resolution in favor of Iran.”

Pointing out that the Russians have never managed to gain even the minimum level of trust in Iranian society he elaborated on some stands adopted by the former Soviet Union regarding Iran during the former Iraqi regime’s imposed war.

Boroujerdi said, “During the years of that era the former Soviet Union acted very bad and very clearly sent a message to Iran that if Tehran will not end supporting the Afghan Mojahed combatants Moscow, too, would continue providing military facilities for Saddam’s regime!”
