Angola: Government assists orphans

Source: Government of Angola - The government donated Saturday several self-employment kits to hundreds of orphaned children based in the Catholic Missions of Cola and Tiago, Caluquembe District, in the southern Huila Province, as part of social and professional reintegration programme of juveniles.

The offer, which was delivered by the minister of Welfare and Social Reintegration, João Baptista Kussumua, comprises arts and crafts professional kits.

The orphan children received, among others, materials related to mechanics, carpentry, metal work, electricity, clothing, musical instruments, and sports equipment.

They also received three cars, 15 motorcycles and same number of bicycles.

The children have also benefited from unspecified quantities of essential foods such as corn flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, among other products to enhance their diet.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, minister João Kussumua, said the kits aimed at strengthening the technical and professional training programme in those missions.
