Serbia: Serbia debates Srebrenica apology

The Serbian parliament will today begin debating whether to apologize for the killing of thousands of Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica in 1995.

A draft resolution agreed upon by ruling parties expresses sympathy for the victims and apologizes for not doing enough to prevent the massacre of some 8,000 Muslim men and boys carried out by Bosnian Serb troops and Serbian paramilitaries in the eastern enclave.

However, the report does not say that the killings represented genocide - causing minority Muslim leaders to reject the apology
