Human Trafficking: Romanian driver arrested in Greece for trying to traffic immigrants

FOCUS Information Agency - Greek authorities detained 51-year-old driver of a Romanian heavy-freight TIR truck on Saturday night at the Promachonas border checkpoint, while he was trying to traffic 26 illegal immigrants, 12 of whom were kids, all hidden in boxes, Romanian Ziare.com reports, citing Greek media.

Border police officers confiscated the vehicle, as well as a cell phone and EUR 710 from the driver, who has been summoned to testify before the court.
Local authorities said there will be no charges brought against the immigrants.
