Pakistan: Iranian diplomat shot dead in troubled Peshawar

KUNA reports an Iranian diplomat has been shot dead in the northern city of Peshawar.

Abu Hassan Jaffri, Director Public Relations of Iranian consulate in Peshawar, capital of North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), was gunned down by two unknown assailants ridding a motorbike.

Giving details of the incident, police sources told KUNA that as the Iranian diplomat came out of his official residence to leave for office, two masked gunmen sprayed bullets.

They said the diplomat was critically wounded and passed away while he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
