Drug Trafficking: Britain, Nigeria to combat drug trafficking

Xinhua - Nigeria and Britain are joining hands in fighting drug trafficking, and have seen progress in the cooperation, the News Agency of Nigeria reported on Saturday.

Visiting British Minister for Crime Prevention Alan Campbell said on Friday that the partnership between Britain and Nigeria in combating illicit drugs was yielding fruits.

Campbell made the remarks when he paid a courtesy call on Nigeria's Minister for Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Michael Aondoakaa (photo) in the capital Abuja.

The British minister is on a two-day official visit to Nigeria to evaluate the performance of Operation West Bridge, an agreement between the two countries to stop drug peddlers from using the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
