Tiananmen Square Anniversary: No one knows if "Tankman" survived

No one knows if the lone Chinese protester known only as the "tank man" who stood in the way of advancing tanks during the bloody 1989 crackdown against protesters in Tiananmen Square, survived.

He has not been heard from since being dragged away by plainclothes policemen but his legacy lives on.

Al Jazeera's Tony Cheng looks back at activists who have come to symbolise the movement and who remain in jail to this day.
