Iran Elections: Ahmadinejad heads for victory

ABC Radio reports official results from Iran's Presidential elections show the incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad heading for victory.

State news agency IRNA declared that he has won the majority of the votes, sending his jubilant supporters into the streets in celebration.

The election commission says Doctor Ahmadinejad has won 65 percent of the vote against more than 32 percent for his main challenger, former Prime Minister Mir Hossein Mousavi.

The Commission says almost 90 percent of ballot boxes have been counted
