Turkey: Turkey to amend Constitution

The Constitution will be amended, said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a meeting in the general council of the Union of Turkish Chambers and Stock Exchanges, Turkish Sabah daily writes.

The first meeting Erdogan attended after announcing the cabinet reshuffles was the one organized by the Union of Turkish Chambers and Stock Exchanges. The message he sent was the constitutional amendment.

“Some constitutional amendments that will address the needs of the civil society will inevitably be put on the agenda,” he said.

He added the discussions about the constitutional amendments had been underway for a long time, but it was common reason that would take the upper hand, the daily writes.
