Iran: Iranian court hears appeal by detained U.S.-Iranian reporter Roxana Saberi

An Iranian court on Sunday heard an appeal by detained U.S.-Iranian reporter Roxana Saberi, local ISNA news agency reported.

"Saberi's appeal was heard this morning for four hours and the court will announce the verdict by next week," ISNA quoted her lawyer Abdol Samad Khoramshahi as saying.

"The court had enough time for both sides to defend their evidence," Khoramshahi said, adding that "the deputy prosecutor and a representative from the Intelligence Ministry attended the hearing session."

"The charges regarding her cooperation with the enemy state were again raised in the courtroom and Mr. Saleh Nikbakht and I defended her," he told ISNA.

The lawyer described Saberi's mental and physical situation as "appropriate", saying she has met her father after the court session.
