Bilateral Relations: Iran wants closer ties with Sri Lanka

IRNA – Head of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mehdi Mostafavi here on Thursday underscored the need for strenthening cultural relations among world people, in particular between Iranian and Sri Lankan nations.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Tourism Asoka Milinda Moragoda.

Referring to the existing cultural commonalities shared by the two countries, Mostafavi said there are great cultural potentials in both states that pave the way for further expansion of bilateral cultural ties.

Moragoda for his part said friendship and mutual respect would lead to promotion of cultural cooperation among various nations.
