Trade: Nicaragua calls on EU to set up regional cooperation fund

China View reports Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortegaon Wednesday called the European Union (EU) to set up a regional cooperation fund to help reach a fair and balanced association agreement on trades.

Ortega made the call shortly after the country's delegation withdrew from the recent round of trade talks between Central America and the EU.

If the EU wanted an integration and customs unit in the region,it is necessary to compensate the countries that are still having a low level in this field, and reach a point of balance, Ortega said during his visit to the northern area hit by earthquakes recently.

Ortega said Nicaragua has a constructive position and it defends the interests of the businessmen, the producers and the social sectors.
