Macedonia: Macedonia detains trucks with Bulgarian license plates

Owners of trucks with Bulgarian license plates have been detained by Macedonian customs officers due to strengthen rules for the stay in country and deprivation of motor vehicles, Macedonian Utrinski Vesnik writes today.

According to a story of Macedonian family from Strumica their truck has been seized at the Macedonian – Bulgarian border at Novo Selo in November 2008 and still hasn’t been given back.

Explanation of the customs officers was that motor vehicles with foreign license plates should leave the state within five days. According to the family there are about 450 Macedonian families with the same problem.
