Iran: Iran calls for formation of international Islamic criminal court to sue war criminals

IRNA – Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi here on Tuesday called for formation of international Islamic criminal court to sue war criminals and those committing genocide.

He made the remarks while addressing the OIC prosecutors conference which kicked off this morning in presence of First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi and a large number of domestic and foreign judicial officials.

Over 200 senior judicial officials from member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference are attending the two-day meeting to review effective judicial and legal avenues against war crimes and genocide in the Gaza Strip by Israel.

Ayatollah Shahroudi reiterated that formation of an Islamic criminal court is essential for administering justice throughout the globe.
