Bilateral Relations: Venezuela, Palestine establish formal diplomatic ties

Venezuela and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) set up formal diplomatic ties after issuing a joint communique on Monday, Xinhua News Agency informs.

In the communique, both sides expressed their desire of establishing friendship ties on politics, economics, culture, technology, touristic fields and others.

It also said that Venezuela and the PNA has decided to establish diplomatic ties based on principles of the international law.

The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry. Venezuela was represented by Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro and the PNA by Foreign Minister Riad Al-Malki, who is also Information Minister.

Al-Malki arrived in Venezuela on Sunday to inaugurate a diplomatic mission of the PNA in Caracas.
