Bilateral Relations: Turkey protests over Israeli ambassador's reference to Armenian Genocide

Aljazeera reports Turkey's foreign ministry has summoned Israel's ambassador to complain after a senior Israeli general accusing Ankara of killing Armenians in 1915, of oppressing the Kurdish minority and occupying Cyprus.

Major General Avi Mizrahi, commander of the Israeli army headquarters made the remarks at a military base in Israel on Tuesday

He was quoted as saying that the Turkish prime minister, who criticised Israel's action in the Gaza Strip, "should first look in the mirror" and spoke about Ottoman massacres of Armenians during the first world war and the Kurdish conflict in Turkey.
