Human Resources: Cuba to raise pensions, salaries - but don't hold your breath

Cuba is to increase pension payments to retirees and also increase the salaries of some government workers.

Yesterday's announcement says the rises will target those workers who earn the least amount of money.

A statement from the government says the increases will apply to pensioners and some employees who work in the Cuban court system.

The statement also said workers will have to wait for pay increases because the country "doesn't have the necessary resources at the moment."
