Aerospace: Iran dismisses Washington's concern over space launch

IRIB reports that Iran has dismissed Washington's concern over Iranian scientific progress and said that the launch of Explorer-1 into the space has been for research studies.

Government spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham said that Iran's recent technological and scientific victories should not be cause of concern for others. Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he said, "The government is responsible for progress and development of the country and is not responsible for others' concern."

The U.S.described Explorer 1 as a ballistic missile.
