The Confederation of Workers of Greece or GSEE, has called for mass participation in a general strike to be held on Wednesday in protest against the 2008 state budget, the changes in the social security system and privatizations.

GSEE expressed belief that the strike will be a complete success in the private, public and broader public sector.

The Athens Metro, trains and trams will operate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time to facilitate the working people who want to take part in the rallies.
