The McCanns faith is tested - so is my patience with these two grubs

The parents of missing British toddler Madeleine McCann, have said that if their daughter is not found alive and well, they will question their Catholic faith. This is the same faith they have carefully orchestrated to their advantage during their obscene, world-wide damage control exercise, that has enabled them to be spared much of the criticism that would normally have been levelled against any working class parents who regularly neglected their children.

Unlike the vast majority of parents of missing children who never give up hope, the McCann's appear to have publicly given up any chance of the child they failed, ever being returned unharmed - just six weeks into this tragic but preventable nightmare.

My advice to the McCann's is simple. Rather than questioning the faith you have used as a tool to gloss over the fact that you failed all your three children - you should instead question your ability as parents - and quite frankly, question if you even have the right to be called parents.

So far you have blamed everyone for your child's torment except yourselves - using excuses such as thousands of other parents do the same thing, to defend the indefensible, .

You have blamed the Portuguese police, (possibly quite rightly), you have blamed the media, (though you have no problem using the media at every opportunity, making sure you are photographed carrying your daughter's favourite toy everywhere you go - which is more than you did with your daughter) for publishing a false lead. Airport authorities have been blamed for not allowing posters of your daughter to be publicly displayed. Now you appear to be blaming God.

None of the above are responsible for your daughter's plight. You are.

Yet all we hear from you is excuses and touchy-feely, sometimes puzzling tales of your own plight. The whole world does not revolve around the McCanns, in the same way your world obviously does not revolve around the three children you both failed within four years of bringing into this world.

Please spare me any simpering, maudling pity for the parents. I have no time for gullible tea-and sympathy supporters telling me the McCanns are suffering and asking me to think of the pain they are going through.

Tough titties. Whatever torment they are suffering is nothing compared to what Madeleine experienced - and may still be experiencing - because of the irresponsible selfishness of these two tacky, self-centred little grubs, who prove that the old saying that the British look after their pets better than they do their children, is true.

Perhaps that may also explain why the British media continue to portray the McCanns as prime candidates for a "Parents of The Year Award" and attack overseas media that rightly criticise the McCanns and question their involvement. Hell, I am surprised the Queen's Birthday Honours list, did not include Sir Gerry McCann and Dame Kate McCann.

The McCanns did not leave their children alone just once - it was a regular occurrence. Madeleine was apparently left in charge - she was not even four years old at the time of her apparent abduction. For their own selfish desires, they regularly played Russian Roulette with their children's lives - and lost. And you ask me to have sympathy for the McCanns? Go whistle Dixie, because you will get none from me.

At no time have the McCann's behaved in a way one would expect. Two-year old twins were with Madeleine when she disappeared. They may not know what is happening but they sure as hell realise that their sister is no longer around and more than likely missing her. Did the McCanns spend bonding time with the twins? No - their first priority is an audience with the Pope and meetings with political dignitaries in Germany as part of a whirlwind tour of Europe.

Why did they leave Amsterdam and Morocco as the last stops on their tour? Amsterdam is the child peddling capital of Europe - the McCann's should know that, as they lived there for a year with their children. Morocco is a gateway for child traffickers and easily accessible from Portugal. I would have thought any lead, however slim, would be more important than a meeting the damn Pope.

Don't question your faith McCanns. Question your right to be proud of anything you have done in regard to your children's welfare. But that is unlikely to happen - you are not that sort of people.

I will leave you with the latest pearl of wisdom from the father. "At the end of it, we will still have our faith and we will also have comfort that Madeleine will be looked after."

That would be a first for the poor little mite.
