The Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso is to visit Baghdad this week for talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, It is the first time a Japanese cabinet minister has visited Iraq since the beginning of the war.He is also expected to meet Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari, to discuss economic aid and logistical support provided by the Japanese military.
