Agriculture: Russia to spend $9 billion on agricultural development

Russia's Deputy Economy Minister Maxim Medvedkov, has said that Russia will spend $9 billion on agricultural development as part of its bid to join the WTO.

But Medvedkov, said Russian agriculture was still unlikely to become globally competitive in the next decade "It is not realistic to speak about [competitiveness] in the next 5-10 years,"he told RIA Novosti.
