Goodnight from Sydney

"He's a very nice quiet person, a loving boy. He's always been lovely".

That is he opinion of the mother of Thomas Towle, who as I reported yesterday, was the driver of the out of control car that piled into a crowd of young teenage partygoers waiting for a taxi. Six teenagers were killed on Saturday night.

This lovely, loving boy -

* Abandoned his wreck car and fled - leaving his 10 year old daughter and four year old son in the car.

* His two children were then left to wander the crash site alone.

* It has been reported that a police fact sheet says that his son was sitting on his lap at the time of the crash.

* Police have said drugs and speeding might have been factors in the crash

* He has appeared in court at least eight times since 1992 for driving while disqualified

* He was released from jail three months ago after serving 18 months for a firearms-related offence

I am glad he is a quiet, lovely person. I would hate to think what he would be like if he was a real bastard.

Oh yes. His brother pointed out to reporters, it is his not his fault. Oh no Siree - it is the taxi company that is to blame, as the teenagers wouldn't have been killed if there had been enough taxis to pick them up.

Wherever you may be - be safe! (not you though you bastard)

Tonight's photo: I thought I would try something different tonight. A "live" shot from my window and my first attempt at a long exposure.
