Outsourcing: Cuba attracts Canadian IT interest

The Globe and Mail, reports that Canadian companies are increasingly finding Cuba, an attractive outsourcing option. One of the benefits for Canadian organisations is Cuba's potential as a gateway to the lucrative Latin American market, while Cuba is anxious to attract western partners in joint ventures.

The Cuban IT sector now has around 45,000 highly skilled workers, 38 per cent of whom have specialized degrees. More than 85 per cent of the country's IT industry is concentrated in technical services and software development.
