International Development: Asian Development Bank gives $20 million for flood control program in Bangladesh

The Asian Development Bank (ADB), has announced approval of a $20 million loan to improve flood control and drainage and irrigation systems in the southwest areas of Bangladesh.

The New Nation reports that the project will also help deliver agriculture and fishery support services to the rural population, strengthening "the institutional capacities of the supporting agencies to manage the overall process, including the operation and maintenance of the main water infrastructure".
