Goodnight from Sydney

My eyes are stuffed and I can't think of a ruddy thing to finish off. Instead, I will leave you with this photograph of a tree so that you know it's the last post of my day.

Why I took this picture I don't really know but something about the white bark has always appealed to me. This type of tree always seems so defiant, it will reach for the sky regardless of what is going on around it, ignoring negative environments and saying to the world, "Bugger you, I'm me and I'm damn well proud of it!".

It may look like it was taken in the "bush" but in fact it is in a small patch of earth in a concreted park on the corner of two main roads. The cars, trucks and buses that pass it now will not be the same ones that will pass in 20 years time. The little kids in their sun hats that led by their teachers, use the park as an access from a kindy to the shopping centre, will have their own little ones in sun hats. All will have changed.

But the tree will keep growing regardless - just doing its own thing.

Wherever you may be - be safe!
