Marketing: Forget marketing campaigns - get back to basics

An economist with a down to earth solution!

Speaking at the "First National Conference of Economists" at Thammasat University yesterday, Chalongphob Sussangkarn, president of the Thailand Development Research Institute, warned the Thai government not to rely on "marketing" campaigns to solve the nation's economic problems. He suggested that they should instead return to basic economic principles in its policy management.

Not every problem can be solved by marketing campaigns - in fact, I might even start a marketing campaign promoting that message!
