Human Resources: Minimum wage set for Kuwait's domestic helpers

Kuwait is to introduce a minimum wage of approximately $137 a month for domestic helpers. The new law will come into effect in early 2006 and will benefit 450,000 domestic workers, mostly from India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines

Also being proposed is a $170) minimum monthly wage for foreigners hired by private companies involved in government contracts.
