Executives from U.S. energy companies are to meet with their Cuban counterparts to discuss the potential for oil and gas ventures between the two countries.The meeting will take place at the Cuba Energy Summit, in Mexico, and will be the first time in over 40 years that the two sides have met.
Oil and Gas Online reports that the Energy Summit is being sponsored by the U.S.-Cuba Trade Association along with Caterpillar, Port of Corpus Christi, Louisiana Department of Economic Development, Valero Energy Corporation, Lafayette Economic Development Authority, National Foreign Trade Council, and USA*Engage.
Spain, China, Canada, Norway, and India are already exploring in Cuban waters.
