Aerospace: Norway's first satellite launched

The first Norwegian-built satellite, "NCBUE-2" has been launched from a Russian space base. Weighing just one kilo (2.2 pounds), the satellite was built a group of 80 students. The satellite contains 1000 components, including a miniature computer, antennae, steering systems, solar panels and batteries.

Primarily under the control of the Agricultural University of Norway, the satellite will monitor naval traffic and follow the movements of a pair of reindeer on the Hardanger plateau in Norway.

Aha. Monitoring reindeer - Christmas is coming!
