The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is to give Pakistan an extra $3.7 billion in assistance to support its economic growth over the next three years.
Most of the money will be spent on water, power, transport and urban development projects.
The more "International Development" articles I post, the more I think that economists would probably pat me on the head and chuckle as they explain: "On no old boy - it may look like Country A gives money to Country B, who then gives it Country C, who in turn lends it back to Country A etcetera, etcetera.
It may even look like there is an awful lot of money passing back and forth between countries and very few people actually seeing it. But it really isn't quite like that. In any case - think of the poor people. This will turn out well for them. Trust me - I'm a banker."
Right Mike - go to your room and write out "I must not be a cynical old bugger" 100 times. Plus 10% interest.
No sweat - I'll outsource it.
