Outsourcing: India's Palace on Wheels to outsource 1200 jobs

The Rajasthan government plans to outsource the jobs of 1200 rail staff who work on the luxury train, The Palace on Wheels, Rajasthan's most successful tourism attraction.

The government intends to replace existing staff with hotel professionals. Irate employees plan to take the matter to court.

A ride on the train cost over $500 a day, but you will have to be patient. It is fully booked until 2007.
