Biotechnology: Bayer to push ahead with plans for GM cotton

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reports that Bayer CropScience will seek approval for the commercial release of genetically modified cotton in two districts in south-eastern South Australia.

The company recently varied the original application to ensure it could gain herbicide use and food safety approvals before the commercial launch in 2006.
